Why Donate...

This October, I’m joining the RBC Race for the Kids at Comer Children’s Hospital as both a mom and a board member. The photos you see here, titled "Why," are of my three daughters. They are my "why"—the reason I’m so passionate about ensuring every child has the chance to grow up healthy and safe.
Each year, Comer Children’s cares for nearly 100,000 kids, offering life-saving care to families on Chicago’s south and west sides and in northern Indiana. Over 70% of our patients rely on Medicaid, and Comer is committed to treating every child, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
As the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center on Chicago's southeast side, we cared for more than 880 trauma cases in 2023, including over 100 children with gunshot wounds. Beyond treatment, our Trauma Recovery Clinic and specialists provide support for the physical, emotional, and mental recovery of our patients.
This race is Comer’s only fundraiser. Your donation provides resources for life-saving care and research, ensuring every child can continue to learn, grow, and just be a kid—even in the hospital.
By supporting us, you’re helping create a brighter, healthier future for children in Chicago and beyond. Your generosity truly means the world to me, my daughters, and the countless kids whose lives you’ll touch.
