Help make sure all kids have access to critical patient care programs!
Who am I? Why am I here?
I have been a member of the Comer Development Board since 2018. We are a dynamic group of professionals interested in raising awareness and money for UChicago Medicine's Comer Children's Hospital. I am currently serving a 2 year term as co-president, after co-chairing the fall fundraiser #comer5k the prior 2 years.
I am passionate about Comer Children's Hospital because it provides life saving (and more routine) clinical care to children across Chicago, including children in our most under-served communities. We have the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center on the South Side.
At the same time, Comer Children's attracts top medical talent and patients from across the globe due to its ground-breaking medical research and highly ranked specialists.
All money raised from the Bright Night Benefit: Crowd Fund for Comer Children's will fund critical patient care programs that would not be possible but for this funding. Examples include NuRoo's provided to new mothers, Art Therapy for patients in hospital for a long term stay, and most poignantly, bereavement support for grieving families. None of these types programs are typically funded by private insurance or government funded reimbursement.
I hope you agree that all children deserve these types of programs when faced with medical challenges, just like you would expect this type of care for your own family. Please join me in supporting this fundraiser. We have chosen a peer to peer campaign for 2022 as our extended hospital community is still not able to meet safely in a live event fundraiser format.
