Beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother
Catherine died suddenly and unexpectedly at the young age of thirty-seven in her home in Crown Point, Indiana. Her death is mourned by her son Jordan Tyler Fasolt-Holmes and Jordan's father Ryan Holmes, her twin brother Nicholas Fasolt, her mother Svetlana Fasolt, her father Constantin Fasolt, her mother-by-marriage Jean K. Carney, her brother-by-marriage Joseph Carney Krupnick, her sister-in-law-by-marriage Emily Krupnick, other relatives, and many, many friends who loved her dearly.
Catherine and her twin brother were born in Bernard Mitchell Hospital at the University of Chicago. They went to the Laboratory School in Hyde Park, Sherwood Githens Middle School in Durham, NC, and Homewood-Flossmoor High School. In 2010 she graduated from Loyola University, Chicago, with a B.S. in Psychology.
She was beautiful and lively, high-spirited and head-strong, abounding in boisterous charm and an infectious sense of humor. From 2012–2014 she worked in the College Admissions Office at the University of Chicago. From then on she found her calling in serving customers in restaurants and bars in and around Crown Point. She was fiercely proud of her ability to fulfill her customers' every wish with the greatest speed and skill while at the same time making everyone around her feel as though they were at home. But nothing made her happier than spending time with her son Jordan and basking in the joy of watching him grow from a toddler into a young man. Jordan was the center of her life.
Please consider making a donation to the University of Chicago Medicine. Catherine admired the quality of the medical care she and Jordan were given here, and she was deeply grateful for the kindness and respect with which their physicians treated them. Gifts of any size will honor her memory by helping other patients and their families to receive the same kind of care in the future.
May her memory be a blessing.
