Dear Friends,

As many of you know, I am fortunate to be a member of the Comer Development Board. With three children who receive their routine (and not-so-routine) health care at Comer Children's Hospital, I have personally seen and benefited from the amazing medical care available at Comer. I know how scary it can be to have a child in the hospital, and I have seen how important patient care programs are to a family's hospital experience.

All money raised from the Bright Night Benefit:Crowd Fund for Comer Childrens will fund critical patient care programs that would not be possible but for this funding. Examples include NuRoos for new mothers, art therapy for patients in the hospital for a long-term stay, and most poignantly, bereavement support for grieving families. None of these types of programs are typically funded by private insurance or government-funded reimbursement.

Comer Children's Hospital provides life-saving clinical care to children across and beyond Chicago, including children in our most under-served communities. We have the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center on the South side.

It is our mission as a Development Board to help bring these types of programs to all children who are faced with medical challenges, just as I, or you, would want this type of support for your own family. Please join me in supporting this fundraiser.

We have chosen a peer-to-peer campaign for 2022 as our extended hospital community is still not able to meet safely in a live fundraiser format.
