2019 Chicago Regatta
On September 14, hundreds of sailors will compete in the Chicago Regatta, an annual event that includes a variety of boat races on Lake Michigan.
Hosted by the Chicago Yacht Club, one of the oldest yacht clubs in the country, the regatta raises funds to support the health and wellbeing of children at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital.
Proceeds from the regatta help Comer Children’s deliver the scientific expertise of the University of Chicago to benefit young patients, while also providing a personal, family-centered approach to care. This year, a portion of the proceeds will also support the research of Eric Beyer, MD, PhD, professor of pediatrics at Comer Children’s.
Dr. Beyer is an expert in the care and treatment of children with all forms of cancer and blood diseases. His research focuses on investigating how information is transferred from one cell to another. Known as “intercellular communication,” this research has the potential to lead to the development of new approaches to cancer therapy and also has major implications in areas beyond cancer, including cardiac arrhythmias and cataracts.
Please join us in supporting the incredible work at Comer Children’s. Together, we can bring hope and a promise of a better future to children in Chicago and throughout the world. Make a gift today!
